The band name of this US outfit suggests one of those dreadful albums where squeaky voiced kiddywinkers shrilly insist they are children of King Jesus. But this is light years from such things. This is '70s style old school punk, more Rancid than The clash with bawled vocals and a tinny, low fi sound. The lead vocals work well enough though the unmusicality in the choruses was pretty painful. But then I found myself singing the lines "I don't know how it started/But I've been wrong before" after just one play of the Ramones-like-length "6 am" so maybe even that works. And I like the song title "Clean Face In A Dirty Place". As Thumper Punk's publicity blurb tells us, "energy and redemption mastered by Cliffy Huntington at Steinhaus with cover artwork by legendary skateboard artist Jimbo Phillips. Anchor yourself."
