For fans of punk and ska inspired rock'n'roll. Largely unnoticed over here, this is actually the Dingees' third album and worth investigating as they manage to tie up energy and melody in a powerful combination. Incorporating a slab of ska to the proceedings which is reminiscent of '80s British band The Specials, both, in melody and style - horns and tinny keyboards here and there - The Dingees have hit paydirt with this album. Standout tracks include the punchy "Summertime" with its wild organ and driving guitars and catchy chorus as well as the more serious "Christina Fight Back" which carries an uncompromising message about self image carefully hidden by an overpoweringly brilliant hooky punchy piece of music. Another favourite is "We Rot The Voodoo" which is a haunting attack on the things that scare us. Fans of the punky reggae that emerged in the late 70s need to check out this band and for rock fans who are tired of the same old same old, take in the oxygen of a high energy band and breathe again!
