Three out of this diverse outfit's five members hail from Terminal, yet it's their bassist's brief time at As Cities Burn which shows the more obvious influence. Comparisons would most accurately be made to recent tour mates Underoath, heavy doses of Symphony In Peril also feature and nods to a few other of the more experimental metalcore mob, Norma Jean especially. Sonically it rips along and it's not until halfway through the album that there's any significant let up. Heavy and intense guitar and rhythm work is met by the guttural screeches of vocalist Micah Kinard, who has a pretty tasty range during the quieter moments too. Lyrically he has a lot of sing about; it's heavily Christ-inspired and remarkably blatant for a band that seeks to tour with some of the biggest names in their scene, Christian or otherwise. If you happened to buy their debut 'Armored March' EP, you may feel a little ripped off, as each song features here too. But then this is their first full release and the first through a label, Solid State. You really do have to like this kind of music to be able to stick it out through the whole album but you will be rewarded for your patience. A solid debut that regularly teeters on the edge of greatness but never quite makes the leap.
