Smooth jazz from this Ugandan saxophonist who plays along to traditional African singers. The twist is that these singers from a folk background are singing contemporary gospel songs in their own language. So if you love smooth jazz, African beats or are just looking for gospel with an African flavour you will love this. In this six track album Katumwa has produced a mini feast of ambient jazz music that both communicates his Christian passion and celebrates his ethnic identity. I just love "Yesu Yesu" which starts so chilled out that you can literally breathe along to it but builds to a crescendo of halleluiahs. This is a wonderfully relaxing album with a classy feel to it. No wonder he is called the Sax Wizard of Uganda.
