Blessthefall were formed in Phoenix, Arizona in 2004 and have previously released a three track EP in 2005. Their style is similar to Underoath, Inhale/Exhale and many other metal screamo bands though that doesn't mean that Blessthefall can't make a mark on the scene. "A Message To The Unknown" starts off with a few seconds of electronic effects before assaulting the listener with brutal musical force. Craig Mabbitt switches between clean vocals, harsh screams and gutteral growls. "Higinia" shows more vocal harmony and is dedicated to Craig's late grandmother, "And if God could keep you with me/I'd trade just about anything/You're what makes me want to change things." The only ballad is "Eyes Wide Shut" with clear vocals throughout whereas "Black Rose Dying" has powerful savage screaming as the singer gasps for breath. The lyrics tend to deal with everyday struggles with life and offer positive messages without being overtly Christian. Craig Mabbitt has since left the band, and is now the singer for Escape The Fate. But Blessthefall continue on and are gigging on the Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour 2008.
