Major label to release LZ7's "This Little Light" as a single
A MAJOR mainstream record company will be releasing the track "This Little Light" by Manchester's urban music collective LZ7. The group's frontman Lindz West told Cross Rhythms, "A particular company have decided that they want to release the track as a single in April 2010. So even if you don't like it, I don't care, download it, because isn't it so much better to get some positive music out there instead of guns and drugs and how many girls you can sleep with? Just get some good stuff out there and make some good choices with your life - even if they're not listening to it from a Christian perspective, they're just listening to it as a good song and they're singing the lyrics. We have Muslims in the schools that we go into, still in their scarves singing 'This Little Light' at the top of their voices , not even realising they're singing the bible - it just has a big impact on people."
Lindz continued, "We're looking at doing a massive tour beforehand, secular and Christian, all over the country, and just promoting it and saying 'Look, on this date, download it, download it. Get it off iTunes, get it off spotify, get it off any means you can, but download the single, because it can only do good.' What we don't want is anyone phoning up stations and saying 'Why aren't you playing this song?', because that just creates a bad name for us in the first place. What we do want is people buying it and getting it to the position where it has to go on the radio airplay lists and the stations have to play it."
