Metalcore band Callisto cause confusion in mainstream media.
FINNISH metalcore band Callisto, who recently completed a 12-city UK tour with High On Fire, spoke recently about their Christian faith, "It's not something we force to appear in every verse. It appears kind of naturally because if you believe in something or have definite points of view it tends to pop out in what you write. That's the way we want to keep it. We sing about things important to us personally. Our goal is not to give answers. It is to give people something to think about."
The band would appear to be confusing the mainstream media. Reviewing Callisto's 'True Nature Unfolds', Metal Hammer's reviewer, after calling them a Swedish band, wrote, "They take you through the sewers of Callisto's clearly derailed mental state. It's hard to pick out individual tracks, but 'Blackhole' is claustrophobic, 'Storm' is suffocating and 'Caverns Of Khafka' is just plain surreal. This is a cutting album for those who like their music warped at the edges and shop-soiled by dysfunction."
