Crowdfunding campaign for the re-recording of Adrian Snell's 'Alpha & Omega'
THE SINGER, songwriter and pianist, Adrian Snell, has launched a crowdfunding campaign for a 30th Anniversary recording of his 'Alpha & Omega' album which in 1986 became the biggest selling UK album in European Christian music history. Snell celebrates four decades in music and is currently a music therapist in Bath.
In October, Snell will visit the Netherlands for a string of performances that will lay the foundation of what will become a re-recording of the 1986 original. The 'Alpha & Omega' album is considered a classic as it not only incorporated choirs into a rock opera opus; it also explored spirituality in light of the world´s conflicts and tragedies, in particular World War II and the Holocaust. During the upcoming 'Alpha & Omega' concerts, Adrian will be joined by a 60-piece choir (The Choir Company) and full band which includes key players from the 1986 recording: Dave Bainbridge (keys, programming, arranging) and David Fitzgerald (flute, saxophone). Dave and David met during an early 'Alpha & Omega' tour and went on to found the band Iona. Other players on the new recording will include current Iona drummer Frank van Essen, Peter van Essen (flute, violin), Elisa Krijgsman (guitar) and Mark Dekker (bass).
