Owl City provides theme song for Legend Of The Guardians film
RETRO ELECTRONIC man Owl City has written the theme song "To The Sky" for the animated Warner Bros feature film Legend Of The Guardians: The Owls Of Ga'Hoole. Said Owl City (aka Adam Young), "It is such an incredible honour to be part of this film. As a fan of both the children's book series growing up, and Zack Snyder's work as a director, having my music included is pretty surreal. I've been waiting for someone to make a movie like this for some time now. I'm endlessly grateful to be involved." The singer is currently working on his follow up to 'Ocean Eyes', due out early 2011.

How did that happen? Did Adam Young see the movie prior to writing the song? Did he already have the song and tweek it just to fit the movie. Did the movie maker ask him for a song? Do soundtracks happen after movies are made? How does it work?
