Ian, maybe you should have held off for the full line up to be released before making these comments - also Crossrhythms, this is again an article biased against Greenbelt. Have you reported that Graham Kendrick is going to be on the line up this year?!

In reply to Greenbelt - Where are the openly christian artists like casting crowns, jars of clay, Amy grant, chris tomlin and audio adrenalin or mainstream christian music artists such as paramore, mxpx, Stryper, hawk nelson and iona. Where are the speakers from true freedom trust, Jews for jesus or coalition for marriage. Where are the testimonies from those living in sderot or ashkelon who are threatened by rockets from palestine daily and are in fear from Muslim states who are anti-semitic and refuse to accept israel's statehood and want to destroy it. If greenbelt is so inclusive - why not include these.

This is exactly the reason why I informed Greenbelt last year, after being a regular attender since the early 90's when I became a Christian, that I could no longer support them because of the direction they are going in. If I wanted a secular festival, there are plenty to choose from. I want a festival for Christians that builds up faith and showcases the breadth and wealth of Christian music in both the mainstream and the Christian subculture. I'm afraid that to say they are rooted in the Christian tradition is a misnomer as I have found in the past couple of years, very worryingly, very little Christianity at the festival. Even the communion service seems to be more secular then sacred from my experience (I am a vicar). We are called to be in the world but not of it - to be engaged with it but to be distinctive. I think Greenbelt has lost this and has sold itself out in order to become a more accepted festival in the mainstream market. I pray that they will return to their actual roots that celebrates the Christian arts and music.

You've obviously missed the bit of the press release which also announced music acts Martyn Joseph, Garth Hewitt and Fat and Frantic, and speakers Barbara Brown Taylor, Francis Spufford, Paul Vallely, Mark Oakley, Lucy Winkett and Professor Mary Grey. Whoops!
