U2 frontman Bono talks about Adam Clayton's faith in new book.

IN THE NEW book Bono In Conversation With Michka Assayas (Penguin) the U2 frontman reveals much about his complicated childhood, his rapport with presidents Clinton and George W Bush, Africa and theology. One of the topics clarified in the interview is the spiritual status of U2's long-time agnostic bass player Adam Clayton. Shortly before U2 entered the studio to record 2000's 'All That You Can't Leave Behind', rumours began to circulate within the Christian music community that Clayton had experienced a profound conversion of faith. While Bono has since confirmed the reports privately among friends in the music world, this new book marks the first time he's discussed Clayton's Christianity publicly. CR
