Chris Tomlin talks about the inspiration behind his new worship album

THE NEW album by American worship leader Chris Tomlin, 'See The Morning', will be released in two versions by Survivor Records in the UK. As well as the standard edition a special edition will be issued.

Tomlin, who in the US won 2006's Gospel Music Awards for Artist, Song and Male Vocalist Of The Year, said, "God is as sure as the rising sun. No matter how dark it gets, the morning will come." Despite his own mounting music industry successes, Tomlin makes it clear that his purpose with 'See The Morning' is to continue making God's glory known through songs and service. In a recent interview with FOX News, he described his musical style by saying, "There are guitars and drums, but the sound is hundreds of thousands of voices singing praise to God together." Explaining the context of his new album, he spoke of a mission worker he met who served in some of the worst places on earth where children are starving and mistreated. This person said, "Chris, it is worship that keeps us from falling apart. We come together and sing your songs; worship songs bind us together and give us hope." Songs on 'See The Morning' include "Rejoice" (featuring the lyric that inspired the album title), first single "Made To Worship" and "Glory To God In The Highest", an expression Tomlin hopes will be used not only at Christmas time. He also collaborates with Matt Redman on a new rendition of the 1860 praise hymn, "How Can I Keep From Singing?" and offers a cover of Brenton Brown's "Everlasting God". CR
